I started my twisted path down the road of java dependency and addiction several years ago when I was a contractor for the <whisper>Department of Defense</whisper>. From there I moved to a position programming in perl for an internet start up company plagued by managerial problems, short sightedness, and a lack of vision. That jobs demise was inevitable. After that I landed another Java gig with a small consulting company where I spent my time coding in dim light as I consumed vast quantities of caffeine. I, now once again ,am contracting for the government but consume no caffeine.

I have had the pleasure of tasting such Java flavors as:
  Servlets
  JSP's
  EJB's ( a bitter blend )
  JDBC
  J2EE
  etc...

I have been spending most of my time recently focusing on design patterns and the completely redesigned OR mapping tool Cartographer. It's current state is in my opinion quite primitive and requires a massive overhaul to be of import to the masses.

Long live the Java bean.
